Sirimon Route • Suggested itinerary for a 4-day trek
Duration: 3-4 hours
Start at Sirimon Gate, gradual hike through montane forest, bamboo, and giant heather zones. Arrive at Old Moses Camp (Judmaier Camp) for overnight.
Duration: 6-8 hours
Cross Ontulili River, Liki North Valley, and Mackinder's Valley. Arrive at Shipton's Camp below Batian and Nelion peaks. Landscape transitions to alpine moorland.
Duration: 8-10 hours
Pre-dawn ascent to Point Lenana (summit) for sunrise over Africa. After celebration, descend through Gorges Valley to Mintos Hut.
Duration: 5-6 hours
Descent through lush bamboo forests, enjoy diverse wildlife and vibrant vegetation. Transfer to Chogoria town or next destination.
This itinerary provides a mixture of environments and topographical features, enhancing the overall experience of climbing Mount Kenya.
